Join Jambo to gain an understanding of how functional anatomy is critical to being able to identify weak and under-functioning muscles and which yoga poses to use to engage them, build strength and flexibility

During this two day experiential intensive course you’ll focus on:

- The 12 structural muscles that protect the spine and hold the skeleton in place;
- Performing muscle testing and correction techniques to complement your yoga teaching;
- Indepth study of the anatomy of postures and the inter-relationships of the muscular skeletal systems.

These structural muscles are underused in our modern day living and underworked in most of our physical activity, yet have a huge relationship to the nervous system and functional movement.

Cat and Heidi are opening up their morning intensive practices at YogaOne, Bellaire for five extra participants.  By attending and completing these morning intensives you'll be awarded a 40.5 hour Forrest Yoga Certificate to submit to credentialising agencies.

To attend the morning workshops, you must fulfill the following terms:
  •     You must either be a certified Forrest Yoga teacher or a teacher with a minimum three years experience in teaching
  •     You must attend all nine days of the morning intensives
  •     All applications must be approved by the Forrest Yoga team

Taught over nine full days, this course is open to yoga teachers from any yoga school or lineage and graduates of the Forrest Yoga Foundation Teacher Training (no minimum years of teaching experience). Participants must have a regular personal practice and be ready to move deeper within themselves and assist their students in the discovery of the physical, emotional and spiritual benefits of yoga. We expect you to have the willingness, health and strength to commit to 100% of this teacher training. You will receive a letter of completion only upon 100% completion of the teacher training.

Ana Forrest designed this program to be highly experiential. The training includes chanting, pranayama, intensive yoga practice, working with injuries, addressing the needs and challenges of students, mentoring your own practice and needs, and learning the principles of class sequencing for advanced poses. You will also be taught how to work with students at different levels and abilities and with different body types.

Eligible Participants
Teachers aspiring to improve their teaching and personal practice and those that are ready to move deeper within themselves and increase the mental acuity needed to explore the rich tapestry of Forrest Yoga. A minimum number of years of teaching experience is not required.  We expect you to have the willingness, health and strength to commit to 100% of this teacher training. Join Forrest Yoga Guardian Jambo Truong for a workshop on Therapeutic Backbending!

Day 1: Therapeutic Backbending
Therapeutic Backbends are poses that have less of a ‘visual aim,’ making them easier to use to track progress. By refining our skills to feel the other senses, and working with our own individual organic rate of release and development, this becomes a journey that deepens our language of self-care. Through this workshop, self-kindness and compassion will become a confident dialogue between cell tissue and heart.

Day 2: Working With What Is: A Forrest Workshop

Working with what is & giving ourselves the best quality of attention enables us to sharpen our focus and pay attention to what is unfolding right now. The way of the Taoist Sage is to recognise ‘what is in the way, is the way.’

This ‘Play-Shop’ is aimed at refining our skills in back-bending inversions such as scorpion and forearm balance variation on the wall. Each apex pose will be defined by a group or ‘pre-work’ poses that practitioners can jump back and practise at any point of the sequence to assist in an improved understanding of these fun and dynamic poses. For example, if you feel it’s your shoulders or your hips that require more attention to more easily access the pose then spend the ‘Play-Time’ working on these before jumping back into the sequence.

An option of poses will be given for each area of the body targeted. Expect to walk away with an increased encyclopedia of poses for each area.
