“You must learn to be still in the midst of activity, and vibrantly alive in repose.“
- Indira Gandhi.
Germany born and Africa raised Filmmaker, Scuba Diver, Massage & Wellness Therapist, and Forrest Yoga Teacher Katrin found this being true when travelling the world and expanding her spiritual path in Bali, Thailand, Kenya, Colombia, Iraq, Taiwan, South Africa, Germany and the USA. “The ability to discern and balance the energies running through your Body is the key to a Happy and Healthy Life. The ability to stay connected and respond to our own needs is our response-ability.”
Able to connect with people of all backgrounds and speaking global truths in four languages (German, English, French and Spanish), Katrin’s passion is to ignite the Spirit and explore the Great Mysteries Life beholds.
With a Masters Degree in Communication Design & Audiovisual Media Katrin has held significant positions in the film, media, and advertisement industry. A certified BSAC Sports Diver and Massage & Wellness Therapist she completed her RYT 200hr in Forrest Yoga with Ana T. Forrest in Cape Town, South Africa in 2013. Katrin has since taught in 7 countries on 4 continents and has had over 400 contact hours with Forrest Yoga.
Katrin also studied with Sri Dharma Mittra (Dharma Yoga, New York City), Hari Kirin Kaur Khalsa (Kundalini Yoga, Kripalu, Lenox, Massachusets), Leslie Kaminoff (Yoga Anatomy, New York City) and is expanding her knowledge around scar tissue and fascia at Bob Cooley’s Meridian Stretching Center in Boston and with Ellen Heed in Los Angeles, USA. Katrin completed introductory workshops in Ayurveda at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachusetts. She trains with her Mentor and Teacher Ana T. Forrest twice a year to deepen her personal practice, keep up to date with the latest developments in Forrest Yoga, and further develop her teaching skills.
A gymnast and athlete at a young age and fascinated with the human functional anatomy, Katrin offers dynamic and physically challenging classes that leave you inspired and feeling spacious in your body. With her 10 years experience in media she understands the challenges of the corporate world and particularly addresses the needs of career professionals with busy lives. Having undergone several abdominal surgeries, Katrin also provides special scar and trauma treatment.
Understanding the challenges of harsh environments and destabilizing life experiences, Katrin’s mission is to provide Yoga to the people that need it most, as well as ordinary people, to overcome their stress and trauma. One of her visions is to provide workshops for victims of tribal and domestic violence, relocation, rape and female genital mutilation, particularly in Sub-Saharan Africa, a territory which she calls home since childhood, as well as other parts of the world. Another strong emphasis in her teaching is to provide special support and care for women (and men) who have undergone pelvic floor and abdominal surgeries like herself, cesarians, breast surgeries, and who have experienced or are experiencing the effects of cancer. Katrin feels it is her purpose in life to make a difference in people’s lives that way. It is honoring the gifts she was given and the resources she has been gaining through her own life experience.
“The purpose of Life is to find your gift. The meaning of Life is to give it away.”
Katrin’s purpose is to help people heal their injuries and regain ownership of their Bodies and thus of their Lives. “A healed Body leads to Peace, Freedom and a Healthy and Happy Life.” Katrin uses all resources available to her, including Yoga, Ayurveda, Nutrition, and Massage, as well as her Writing, Art & Creativity, and Realizations from her personal Life experience. She believes in her Healing Touch, because “It is the Heart that offers, Hands pass on what comes from the Heart”.Website:kilunda.com
