Forrest Yoga Email:
After spending 5 years as a professional actor with a bustling and often chaotic city life Lana Smithner decided to go on a sabbatical and take the Forrest Yoga Foundation teacher training with Ana Forrest in the Fall of 2015. The healthy connection to spirit that Lana found in this teacher training challenged her to go deeper and back to her rural roots. She has been traveling, playing with her yoga practice, and assisting/teaching/studying with Jerusha Rone and Brittany Bares ever since.
Lana originally hails from the woods of Maine in the United States and has an Honors BA in Theatre from Bates College. She takes delight in weaving together grace, awareness, and playfulness to her classes, which she learned from her ardent study of human nature and behavior in college and as an actor.
On her travels Lana was shocked to discover that the training she received as an actor is quite similar to that of a yoga teacher, shamanic training, and she bets, many others. Due to this realization she’s fascinated with studying and sharing in her classes how each of these disciplines approach the path to what many of us are seeking: connection. Students can expect to explore these parallels with Lana along with many luxurious hands on assists in a gentle, soothing environment.
Lana feels most at home in the ocean or air, which is why she is so drawn to Forrest Yoga and ceremony. They help her to not only plant her feet on the ground as the trees do, but also to slow down and breathe.
